The five stages of change (also known as the transtheoretical model (TTM) is the process of adopting healthy behaviors. These stages are:
- Precontemplation (no intention to change)
- Contemplation (intending to change soon)
- Preparation (making small, initial changes)
- Action (actively modifying behavior)
- Maintenance (sustaining the new behavior)
