Competing against others is fun, but if your focus is continuously outward it will rob you of your joy as there’s always someone better. However, if you compete against yourself, you can only win. Every time you beat your previous best you’ve just grown more powerful. All of your energies are on self-improvement instead of comparison and over the long run that’s how you become great.
