0-1 No, watch for junk.
1-1 Depends, only if in the wheelhouse.
2-0 Go, all day, every day (hitters count).
2-1 No, unless it’s perfect perfect.
1-2 Battle, strive for contact (pitchers count).
2-2 Go, anything close gets a hack. Watch for junk.
0-2 Battle, stretch the count.
3-0 No, especially if there are men on base.
3-2 Go and gear up for a fastball!

To stop freezing at the plate in baseball, focus on having a “swing until it’s a ball” mentality, maintain good timing, have a slight pre-pitch movement to avoid being static, practice visualization techniques to stay calm, and actively look for hittable pitches in the strike zone, rather than overthinking and getting paralyzed by the pitcher’s delivery. – Coach Justin, Ultimate Baseball Training

”Completing a Yurchenko double pike is hard enough without looping self-criticism. Telling yourself you’re capable can calm your nerves and emulate how you feel in practice. Plus, talking to yourself in the third-person — like Biles telling herself, “You got this” — can actually decrease stress and improve your performance. – Megan Sauer
